James Fisher has written that the first person recorded as feeding wild birds was the 6th century monk Saint Serf of Fife who tamed a robin by feeding it.

I had this brilliant idea to hang up bird feeders on that ladder, completed forgetting that Lia is full of cats and that if a bird were to ever come for food there it would get eaten itself.
Absolutely, I would have felt so bad if anything had happened x)! The poor birds have it though enough in the cold months without the possibility of being eaten by cats.
It's good that you realised that fact before anything serious happened :D.
